If you’re like me, sometimes you don’t have a ton of time to swing by home after work to get ready to go out for drinks. Finding pieces for you wardrobe that are professional and comfortable for a full day of work, but also easily transition into night life can be a bit challenging. In these instances, I find simple and classic to be my go to style choice. Something that is not too dressy, but also not too casual.
When I first saw this button-up pocket shirt dress, I fell in love. It was simple, professional, and had that classic look I adore. Bonus points, it’s super comfortable. Comfortable is a key factor when you are sitting in an office all day. I’m always on the look out for pieces that don’t look frumpy, but fill the comfy factor.
The best part about this style is you can wear some nice sandals or dress it up with heels and both look great! I went with these new black sandals with gold accents I recently purchased. Then I added in my favorite new basic black clutch.
To complete the look I added in my glasses as a fun accessory. Can I just say how much I love that glasses can be an accessory now?!? I started wearing glasses in 5th grade. Growing up wearing glasses, they were never seen as anything cute or fun. Instead they were a necessity and considered dorky. It’s awesome that they are embraced as an accessory now and even those with perfect vision will sport a non-prescription pair to complete their look. We’ve come a long way since my adolescent days, haha!
This is the perfect black dress for the office to after work drinks. Comfy and professional. I love the simplicity with the little details like the buttoned pockets. I also like the added tie to give the waist a little shape. Pair this with some cute shoes and your favorite bag and you’re set!
