Woodsy Outdoor Camping Themed Baby Shower

This past weekend I celebrated my California baby shower with my husband’s family and our Central Coast friends. I wanted a woodsy outdoor camping themed baby shower and my mother-in-law nailed it! I am not one who has the “Pinterest Gene” in my DNA, but she sure is. Every party she plans is full of all these amazing details and my baby shower was no exception.

DECOR

I absolutely loved the decor! It honestly looked like it was straight out of a magazine. The first thing guests saw was this adorable Camp Noah banner. The tables were lined with a grass runner which created great contrast for the wood chargers, brown bottle vases, and cute framed woodland critters. The guest gifts were butterfly shaped bird seed party favors. A custom tepee was made for all the gifts to be placed before opening. The drinks were even paired with cute themed names like Creek Water and Pond Punch.

FOOD

When my mother-in-law asked what kind of food I wanted at the shower, all I could think of was Mexican food. I have been craving Mexican food the most during my pregnancy and a taco bar sounded like a lot of fun. She created a delicious menu of chicken or beef tacos with sides of corn salad and rice & beans. Of course chips and salsa were a must too! Finally, I really wanted to have s’mores cupcakes to go along with the camping theme we were creating. My husband’s grandma is an amazing baker and she provided the delicious cupcakes!

ACTIVITIES

In my early 20’s one of my good friends had a “onesie station” at her baby shower. That memory always stuck with me. I loved the idea of having guests create fun onesies for our baby to wear. A variety of onesie sizes were provided along with some super cute iron on appliques.

Another game my friend came up with was for guests to “guess the age” of my husband and I from our baby photos. All photos provided were from one year and younger. This was not an easy game by any means, but it was fun to see our photos and imaging what characteristics our little guy might get from us.

Finally, a woodsy tree guest book was provided. Guests could put their thumbprints on the tree and sign their name. This is going to be such an adorable piece to add to our son’s room!

Woodsy Tree Guest Book

So much love, time, and thought went into my baby shower. This woodland animal themed baby shower was such a perfect day spent with family and friends. I am so grateful for all the support we’ve received and I’m so excited to welcome our little guy into this world!

If you’re like me and don’t really have the Pinterest gene, I came across this amazing DIY checklist to plan your own party!
